11 Trade Shows to Attend in 2014

As a designer, trade shows are a great place to display your upcoming collections, as well as source materials, network with other designers, and connect with manufacturers. Buyers, brands and suppliers all come together at trade shows across the nation to view the latest trends in fashion.

There are numerous trade shows to attend, especially in the beginning of the year! Here are 11 trade shows we recommend attending in the next few months:

1.) MAGIC
Las Vegas, NV, February 17-20
We attended MAGIC in August this past year and had a great time! We had the opportunity to meet U.S. suppliers and tons of new designers aspiring to produce in America. Every February and August, you can find men’s and women’s apparel, footwear and sourcing at MAGIC.
2.) Project
New York, NY, January 21-23
Project is a tradeshow that is affiliated with MAGIC, however it is based in NYC and focuses on menswear. Although it specializes in menswear, you will find premium denim and designer collections for both men and women.
3.) TexWorld
New York, NY, January 21-23
TexWorld is the largest fabric show in North America. At this sourcing event, you will meet fabric buyers, designers, merchandisers, manufacturers and sourcing professionals. Maker’s Row will be at the June 2014 show.
4.) Capsule
New York (Men’s), NY, January 21-22
Las Vegas, NV, February 17-19
New York (Women’s), NY, February 22-24
Capsule is a fashion trade event that gathers together high-end, progressive and independent designers. Started by NY-Based fashion consultancy, BPMW, the show is held 12 times a year in New York, Paris, Berlin and Las Vegas.
5.) Agenda
Long Beach, CA January 7-8
New York, NY January 22-23
Las Vegas, NV February 17-19
The Agenda trade show is a collection of streetwear and action sport designers. Agenda showcases to buyers an assortment of brands that are inspired by style, art, music and culture.
6.) Coast
Miami, FL, March 10-11
New York, NY, February 23-24
Launched in 2006 by Karen Bennet, COAST brings together designers from around the world. Here, you will find over 250 brands in an intimate setting, which gives exhibitors a stress free buying experience
7.) Indigo
New York, NY, January 14-15
Indigo is held three times per year, bringing together over 125 textile exhibitors. You will find a broad selection of knits, embroideries, prints, appliques, and more.
8.) Kingpins
New York, NY, January 21-22
Kingpins is an invite-only trade show that has a selection of denim and sportswear fabric mills from the U.S. as well as overseas suppliers. You will be able to connect with wash houses, full package manufacturers, trim providers and business solutions.
9.) Atlanta Apparel
Atlanta, GA, January 30 – February 2
At Atlanta Apparel you can find over 1,000 exhibitors that focus on men’s women’s, children’s, shoes and accessories.
10.) Premiere Vision
New York, NY, January 14-15
Located in NYC, Premiere Vision offers an extensive selection of fabrics, trims, and materials.
11.) Designer and Agents
New York, NY, January 6-8
Los Angeles, CA, January 13-15
D&A features fashion-forward brands from around the world. The show takes place in NYC, LA and Paris every year.
