Clark-Cutler-McDermott Company was founded in 1911 by Thomas S. McDermott, Walter Clark, and William Cutler. The company's headquarters have remained and expanded at the same location in Franklin, Massachusetts, for nearly a century.

CCMcD is a privately held company that has been under the present management control for 96 years. CCMcD has a long history of developing innovative products for the automotive acoustical industry including: Re-claimed cotton acoustical insulation (shoddy) (1971), Polypropylene splash shields and fender insulators (1978), and Resin-free moldable acoustical insulators (1986).
