Indie Source is an apparel manufacturer and fashion consultancy that is redefining the way clothing is developed, produced, and distributed in the United States. Based out of Los Angeles' fashion district, they provide fashion designers with a personalized, in-house product development team which includes a dedicated project manager and the best sourcing specialists, patternmakers, and sample makers that the industry has to offer.

Once brands are ready for production, Indie Source provides full-package services (buying all raw goods, marking/grading, cutting, sewing, printing, finishing, folding & packing) from 200 to 200,000 unit orders across all knit and woven apparel categories.

Ideation

You’ve been inspired. No matter how big or small your brand is, forecasting the design and construction of each seasonal piece requires in depth planning. Regardless of whether you have just sketch on a napkin or a rough prototype you've been working we can help. Your first step will be an Introductory (Intro) meeting with your Indie Source Team. The Intro Meeting is your chance to show your brand and share your vision and ideas. In your meeting, you are going to meet your Project Manager who will supervise and assist in the complete development of your project. You will also meet with our fabric specialist, trim specialist, who will be sourcing the fabric and trims for your products. During your Introduction meeting we will cover the following: Idea Consultation, Resource allocation Define and conceptualize design ideas into sample styles. Begin creation of Bill of Materials Set delivery and timeline expectations. Review desired retail/wholesale price points. Initial pattern review & directives for Pattern Maker Project management & process facilitation (We oversee the entire process of building your collection and see it to fruition) Discuss production plans

Pattern-Making

We provide brands with a production-ready pattern with face card and sewing instructions. Most designers bring us a fit reference sample that they have access to. From here we digitize and make modifications to hit your specs.

Materials

Our seasoned sourcing specialists will shop the marketplace for available materials based on your fabric and trim requests. We have relationships and buying power with 60+ domestic and international suppliers. Pricing varies based on the criteria below. Fabric: Basic / Specialty / Custom Trim: Basic / Specialty / Custom Dyeing - Per process (color, wash, etc) Printing- Per printing process/ Colorway Artwork: Resizing / Vectorizing & Putting on a repeat / Custom graphics work Tags/Labels: basic - Indie starter kit / custom labels/ tags

Tooling

The reason it is so important to invest in your product development is to ensure that your production will run smoothly. By the time you're finished with samples you will have a complete bill of materials, production pricing based on different quantities, production ready patterns and a clear idea of how you will progress forward into building a profitable brand.

Production

As a full package (CMTP) manufacturer we provide fabric/trim sourcing, pattern and pre production sampling followed by marking, grading, cutting, sewing, printing, packing and shipping of finished production runs from 200 units to 200,000 units. Lead Times We work hard to ensure that when we commit to have your products ready, they show up on time. American manufacturing provides a tremendous advantage of speed to market that overseas manufacturers are simply unable to beat. While these are our general lead times, after working together we make commitments to stocking your fabrics to shorten your wait time even further.
