Speaking to designer Zara Dramov, there’s no denying the influence that built environment has had on her designs. With architect parents, she’s developed a nuanced take at how she understands form. “My parents have had a huge impact on the way I see form,” she says of her line. “I’m very interested in the way that soft organic curves meet strong, hard lines.”

“I have an industrial design background, so I am also in tune with the fact that design is everywhere, and I’m very conscious that a city is masterpiece from the ground up- whether it’s a building, a street sign, or even a garbage bin.”

Dramov’s influences aren’t just limited to American buildings, but stints in London and Paris informed her design as well. Other influences include 3D printing – a technique she hasn’t yet incorporated into a collection – and laser cutting, which was the main inspiration behind the Pierced Bag and Pierced Bucket.
