Textile Product Development & Small Batch Manufacturing

The Textile Innovation & Design Entrepreneurship Manufacturing Resource Center (TIDE MRC) specializes in the development, testing, small batch manufacturing/sampling of textiles (knits and wovens) and yarns. We also offer services in the laser cutting of fabric.

We help design entrepreneurs and makers transition from small DIY start-ups into the domain of value chain, made-in-the-USA manufacturing relevant to fiber, yarn, fabric and quilt making. We operate in New York City and South Carolina.

How we can help:

+ Sample Dobby weaving (any 18 body harness dobby design)
+ Sample Rapier Weaving (Broadcloth sample in dobby weave)
+ Sample Circular Knit (22 gauge for 15 to... (more)

We take you through a step-by-step design and development process that can include sketch sheets, providing options on manufacturing, offering options (and sources) on fabric selection, helping you pick your fabric print patterns (and colors) in relation to trending/market psychographics, developing a sample, revising that sample.

We assist with pattern making on a consulting basis in the design process and we will work directly with pattern makers in the development of your product.

We provide poly-spandex stretchable fabrics and organic cotton jersey. We also sell flame resistant (FR) textiles for bedding, window treatment, and accent (drapery) applications that meet N.F.P.A. 701 standards. These textiles can be delivered in solid colors or with custom applied surface patterns with approximately one month lead times for delivery, minimums vary depending upon the material. Our surface design library for synthetic fabrics contains over 4000 options.
