Negotiating With Manufacturers to Get Your Price Point

Last week, the Maker’s Row team traveled upstate New York to visit one of our top performing furniture and wood factories, Clean Air Woodworks. This small design-build-manufacturing firm focuses on modern designs, zero-VOC finishes, reclaimed and sustainable wood, and wooden creations of all types.

We sat down with founder, Matt Rogers who has worked with a variety of clients, including beginning product designers. “We can work with wood, metal, fabric, leather, fiberglass, stone, and plastic.” Outside of furniture, Clean Air recently helped one entrepreneur create her wooden handbag line.

Matt shared some advice to help beginners figure out the best way to negotiate prices before reaching out to factories.
