Take advantage of this upcoming long weekend to get refreshed, organized, and prepared for a flawless season:
1. Schedule your posts.
If you haven’t already, check out How to Write Magnetic Headlines and plan your post headlines themes. Planning out your posts’ titles makes editing everything down to what the main takeaway is meant to be a lot easier. Taking the time to plan ahead now will save you time when everyone returns to the office, and your inbox is filled to the brim.
2. Draft an enticing post to gain subscribers.
If you’ve been having difficulty finding the time to write a hot blog post that entices lots of visitors to join your email list, well now is your chance! Work on it for 30, 20, or even 15 minutes every day from now until the end of your time out of the office, and you will begin your week with a bang. As our Maker’s Row Guest Blogger mentioned, “New realities can sometimes lead to a new ideas from a different perspective. Embrace it.”
3. Create a new feature or product idea.
Do you already have plenty of great incentives to join your site’s subscriber list? Well now is the time for you to grab your readership’s eye by creating some fresh pizazz. Try surveying your audience on your social media accounts or an email campaign. You can start with: What are your biggest issues/concerns/confusions right now with our product? After receiving that golden p.o.v. we love as entrepreneurs called feedback, you can create an outline for a feature, product idea, website edit, or copy edit that solves a user’s problems. Send it to them to see what they think. If they like your adjustments, presto! You’ve improved your entire brand all before Labor Day weekend is over.
4. Do research on your industry.
Every once in a while, especially if you’re in the dog days of summer, it’s a great idea to take a peek at other blogs and websites in your industry, and see how their marketing efforts are doing. You can use tools like Moz’s “Open Site Explorer”, Social Crawlytics, and SEMrush to get actual data on things that work well for your userbase, and things that don’t.

5. Organize & take care of technical tasks.
If you’re not convinced on being productive this holiday weekend yet, consider this last tip the most important. If you’ve been thinking about adding WordPress plug-ins or cleaning out your Google Drive, now is the time to take care of technical tasks like these. If you want to preview edits to old blog posts, or new web designs, a smaller number of people will notice any errors, and you’ll be all set for a flawless revamp launch in the fall.
Here at Maker’s Row, our team is working to do all of the above. The cool thing is you can do at least 1 of these, even if you’re a one-man show!
