I was brought up in Spearfish, SD. I moved to Vail, CO in ’98 where I spent seven years snowboarding and searching for the meaning of life. When I was a kid I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I just knew it had to be truly amazing. I discovered my joy of woodworking when I was working in the construction field. With my taste for saw dust never fulfilled in the construction industry I discovered a program in my local area and went to school. I am professionally trained at Red Rocks School of Fine Woodworking. While there I honed my craft and developed my own set of design principles. I like to approach my designs from outside of the box. I don’t think that it is a black and white ideal. I try to let the wood speak with a natural, organic voice. I feel that less is more. Many of my pieces start as an idea in my head, then to my sketch book, and then take on a mind of their own to become what you see. I am just along for the ride.
