Introducing Furniture on Maker’s Row

Today we are expanding into the furniture industry! Since our launch in November 2012, we have connected thousands of designers and manufacturers within the apparel space, and are thrilled to now unite furniture makers across the United States. This is one of the many industries that designers have been eager to become connected with, and we are excited to expand our platform and support the furniture industry.

“The furniture industry has been the bedrock of numerous cities across the U.S.,” said Matthew Burnett, CEO of Maker’s Row. “Rising labor costs, fuel prices and import rates make domestic production within the United States more appealing than it has for decades. Maker’s Row envisions its application within the furniture space to be the catalyst for the next great era of product manufacturing in the U.S.”

Within the furniture search function on Maker’s Row, factories can be sorted by locale and production specialty.  We have broken down the furniture making process into six different steps:

  1. Ideation
  2. Drafting
  3. Materials
  4. Sample-Making
  5. Tooling
  6. Production
